First, Gary was able to speak directly with his mom!! Communication lines are open!!! It was so wonderful to hear her voice!! She reported that 2 of our young men from "The ROCK" mission base in Croix Des Bouquets got up early this morning and walked all the way to the town of Careffour (a 10 hour walk) to go see about Gary's mother!! Bless them, Lord! They told her that everyone back at the base is alive and well! The new school building (with freshly poured concrete roof done the day before the quake), the church, and the mission house are all still standing, even the old school building, no damage!!!!!!! Alleluia! Unfortunately, we can't say the same about everything else in the area..... Everything has been flattened! All except one little house and this was the house we built for the family with 6 children that were sleeping under a tree!!!!! THIS IS TRULY A MIRACLE FROM GOD!

A bit later, Gary was able to get in touch with Bolivar, our director in Haiti!! They talked for almost an hour, praising God!! He was so excited to hear from us and visa versa!! :) He told us that when the earthquake hit, they were in the middle of the 4-6pm prayer set!
He also said that everyone that has any connection with BMO is fine; teachers, workers, and all their families! I JUST CAN’T STOP GIVING HIM PRAISE!!!! Bolivar did say that a portion of the wall that surrounds the property has collapsed in the front and rear of the property. Repairs are needed immediately for security reasons.

What's next? God willing, Gary is scheduled to go to Haiti on January 22. He will be there for 2 weeks. Bolivar and the others are so excited and encouraged that he's coming in spite of the situation!! The people’s hearts are tender; Bolivar said the people want to receive Jesus before you can even open your mouth!

So what can you do to help? The greatest need right now is prayer and financial support. Gary wants to get the whole community together, to cook for them and feed them. He wants to provide water for them, which will require gas to run the generator to pump water from our well. He also wants to help rebuild the area, and most importantly, share with the people how good our God is! There are 2 ways to help financially. You can either go to our paypal link on our website at www.bethelmissionoutreach.org OR you can mail donations to BMO, PO Box 391, Morrow, GA 30260. 100% of the proceeds will go to relief efforts in Haiti and all donations are tax deductible.
Prayer requests: Please continue to pray for the nation of Haiti and all the people that are suffering!! The relief efforts have just begun. It will take months if not years to bring this country back on its feet. Jesus loves the Haitian people and has not forgotten them! Please pray also for safety as Gary goes and ministers! THANK YOU!

Committing all things into His hands,
Linda

1 Peter 1 says,

There is wonderful joy ahead, even though it is necessary for you to endure many trials for a while. These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold~and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold., So if you faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it wil bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

We buried my father-in-law yesterday and as many of you have experienced yourself, there is tremendous sorrow in saying goodbye to your parent but we rest in knowing that he is with our Lord Jesus Christ. I am very glad that I returned from Haiti to be here with my family during this time. The Holy Spirit is The Wonderful Comforter and we have also been very touched by all the phone calls, meals, prayers and sympathy from our friends. Thank you so much.

As for what is going on with the school, here are some photos showing the progress of the building.

The building is going better than expected. They are pouring upper columns to prepare the structure for the concrete ceilings that will be poured very soon. I met with the parents of the children that attend school while I was there are felt very encouraged. The families are so grateful and I can see the difference that we are making in individuals as well as entire families. I am certain that love has an agenda that even the gates of hell cannot stop.

I also want to thank those of you who are continuing to give faithfully even in times of economic hardship. The word says that we can test him in the area of tithe and money as it is the least important thing in regards to the kingdom. May God pour out generously on you and increase your territory 30, 60 and even 100 fold.

God bless you,

Gary

Change of plans

It is with sadness that I write this post, Linda's dad is in the hospital right now. He suffered 2 strokes and has very high white blood cell count which is a sign of infection. He has suffered a couple seizures since being admitted and he is not responding very well to efforts made by the doctors. Brianna is coming home from Texas and Linda's brother is coming home from Iraq. It is a very difficult time for us and I will be returning from Haiti on Tues and the missions trip will be postponed until April. ( God willing) I appreciate all of you prayers and the flexibility of the team, here in Haiti and at home in GA. I am torn but I need to be home with my wife to offer support and comfort just as Jesus does for us in our time of need.
God bless you and I will keep you posted.
Your brother in Christ, Gary.

Cover us in prayer

I am leaving at 6 am tomorrow morning to return for 2 weeks. I am very excited to see how the school is coming along and although I speak with the team at the House of Prayer almost daily, it always brings me great joy to see them face to face. I will be taking 3 people from my church along with me and we are all very excited to be a part of what the Lord is doing.
We hope to take an 8 hour hike into a remote village where I have wanted to make contact with a Pastor that is there helping the people. I'm sure I will have a great story to tell you all when I return and lots of pictures to share as well.
Please keep my beautiful wife, Linda, lifted up in prayer while I am away as she carries the full weight of family and home on her shoulders. I could not do what I do without her and she is a tremendous blessing to me and everyone who knows her.

Thank you for your continued support, prayers and encouraging words. I know it's been a long time since you've seen a post but it's not because nothing has been happening. It's just the opposite! We are winning a Nation and Haiti is it's name. I have recently returned from a trip where 10 radical revolutionaries from Atlanta IHOP came with me to minister and impart worship strategies to the team at The Rock IHOP. It was such an amazing trip. The team was up for anything and we went on many outreaches and saw lives surrendered to Jesus, blink eyes opened, healings of many kinds. All in all, we pushed back the darkness with the light of Jesus.
The Love of Christ School now has 200 children enrolled. They are fed and taught daily, free of charge. Lives are being redeemed and transformed day by day. We even have a voodoo priest in the area that brings his 3 children to our school. When I asked him why he did this, he said simply that he wanted something better for his children. He didn't want them to follow in his footsteps, he wanted them to know Jesus. Beloved, be encouraged! Even the darkness cannot run from the Love of God!
The children are thriving in their studies and are very excited about the new building. They went and sang and prayed over the foundation as it was being poured. We are looking forward to having a place for them that is comfortable and increases their self worth. I have parents regularly ask me to take their children into the school and it breaks my heart to turn them away. I know that God's provision will allow 600+ children to attend and we anxiously await for that day.

We continually pray for anyone and everyone. There has never been a mission trip like this one! Yes, every trip is different; but this one was very special.

A team of fifteen students from Missouri Baptist University joined us on this last trip in May. Everyone, including the B.M.O staff in Haiti, had a personal experience with the Lord. We experienced an open heaven and it was wonderful. What made this trip so wonderful? I thought you’d never ask. We had three days of evangelistic crusades. We visited an orphanage, where we did some teaching as well as sang and danced with the children. We spent lots of time with our children at Love of Christ School; we visited another elementary school, spend time in prayer at the ROCK House of Prayer, went sight seeing and also built a house for a family of eight in three days!!

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_clMRHovAaaw/SEv_meC6UpI/AAAAAAAAAAk/G_m_3EXT-TY/s320/pic1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209538430349496978" />
At the end of the trip we asked the team to share a little bit about their experience in Haiti.

Here’s what a few had to say:

“Some how this place peels over the layers to allow God to speak clearly His will and His direction in my life. This school, these kids, the people and you, Gary, have somehow returned my “God hearing” ability. – WOW! …Ross Simpkins. (Veterinarian)

Dear Pastor Gary,
My time spent here in Haiti has been remarkable. I came here not knowing what to expect, but choked by what I encountered. Those involved in this ministry have hearts devoted to God and a true understanding of the power of prayer. At times when a situation started going amiss- sickness, injury, etc. –Prayer was always the instant response. The love that is expressed among the Haitian people inspires me. This week has truly helped me listen to the direction God desires for my life. Thank you for following the will of the Lord --- All for His glory and honor! ….Brigette Zielke

Dear Pastor Gary and Team,
Words cannot express how much God has blessed me through you all this week. You are all part of me now and part of my heart remains here with Bethel Mission Outreach and everyone here in Haiti. Our God is so great and glorious. He has revealed His beauty countless times to me through the landscapes, the love shown in each of you and our wonderful Father’s light in the eyes of each child. Because of our Father’s majesty and power to unify past all physical, mental, and language barriers. I’m happy to know we are seeking “One thing” as one heart. Your image and love are burned into my heart and mind forever, and I cannot wait to share Eternity with you! My prayer for you and love through our Savior remain with you… Until next year … Ephesians 3: 20-21 …Danielle Endejan

There was such a hunger for God during the trip and God showed up in a mighty way. Others wrote things like: “My life will never be the same” “God is in this place”

“This trip has brought me closer to God” “It has been a life-changing experience.”

There’s a Haitian proverb that says “Tandé ak Ouè Sé dé” which simply means hearing and seeing are two different things. What we’re trying to say is that we wish you too could have been there. There are not enough pictures to fully convey this amazing experience!

For example, this is a house made out of twigs and tree branches. The roof is barely covered with rusty broken sheets of metals; <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_clMRHovAaaw/SEv9iQvyfzI/AAAAAAAAAAc/0gD-DlbqmHU/s320/pic2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209536159036899122" />when it rains no one can sleep because of flooding not to mention all the mud because the floor is made of dirt.

This place is home to a family of eight. Each day Mr. & Mrs. Lamar and their six children pray that it won’t rain. On top of worrying about rain they also worry how they will survive and feed their children in a country where most people make less than $2.00 a day with unemployment at 70% even $2.00 is a huge blessing for most people.

We heard about this family’s situation because five of their children attend Love of Christ School. I decided to pay them a visit and what I saw brought tears to my eyes, it was beyond misery.

As I walked back to the mission house, the Lord spoke to me and said “Build a house for them and it will be a testimony in this village”. People everywhere will see this work and they will glory our Father in heaven.

At the mission base, I shared with the team the vision God gave me to build a home for the Lamar Family. One of them asked, “How are we going to build this house?

We need money.” Another asked “How much money will it take to build the house”. I didn’t really know but God would provide. I told them if we could come up with $1,000.00 we would find the rest.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_clMRHovAaaw/SEyY-O0ZaTI/AAAAAAAAAAs/Q3ZVnBrC400/s320/pic3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209707063857998130" />They were very excited. So within minutes everyone brought what they had and place it on the floor. Then I asked them to stretch forth their hands and we prayed giving thanks to God for the opportunity to serve Him in such a way.

When we finished praying, one of the students counted the money. There was exactly $1,000.00!! Is God good or what?!

So the next morning, we tore down the old foundation and started construction on a brand new one. While working on the house, a group of people came to the site and wanted us to stop the construction. They argued that the family didn’t own the land and do not have the authorization to build a permanent residence there. As the tension escalated, we were more determined to accomplish our mission.

We then assigned a group of intercessors to pray for favor as we continued to raise the wall of that house. Several hours later we had a break through.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_clMRHovAaaw/SEyZgeRQ0II/AAAAAAAAAA0/OyVJRi58XnM/s320/pic4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209707652121153666" /> An agreement was reached with the owner of the land to lease the property for a period of five years with option to buy. We praised God for giving us victory in the midst of fierce opposition. On the right is the Lamar family standing in front of their new home just before we finished it.

God is worthy of all praise! The Gospel tells of the exuberant account of Christ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. It was a happy time, a time of celebration and a time of thanksgiving to God for all the miracles they had seen. But some in the crowd were not happy to see God being praised. They even asked Jesus to make the people be quiet. They could not stand it, but Jesus answered them and said “If these people will not praise Me then the rocks will cry out and praise Me”.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_clMRHovAaaw/SEyZ0SPe4mI/AAAAAAAAAA8/dPFAvDYxCFc/s320/pic5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209707992489845346" />Whatever we do, we do it with hope that someone will come to know our Jesus who loves us so much as it is recorded in John 3:16.

Linda and I love each and everyone of you. We thank you for all your prayers and for loving Christ the way you do. Thank you for partnering with Christ through Bethel Mission Outreach to preach the Gospel, feed the hungry, and clothe the naked.

Welcome!

Welcome!

Hi!
